Labor day

This weekend marks the end of summer and with it cool air and autumn fun.  I always have mixed emotions regarding fall.  I love the cool weather, the crisp feeling of the air, the leaves changing, the pumpkin farms to visit, but after fall comes winter.  I can take winter for about 2 weeks and then I am all for it to end.  Here in the midwest (northern Illinois) our winters can be harsh, cold, icy, snowy, blowy you name it we have it.  But I am not going to go there yet.  It's still only September 4th, plenty of warm days ahead.

We had a nice relaxing weekend.  There was a lot of families at the campground.  We didn't take the boys as they both had runny noses and were very crabby.  We did stop over twice to visit and get our baby hugs.  I ended up putting both Dayton (who is not sick) and Jacob to sleep last night.

We hung out as a nice old married couple and chatted with some other campers, had a bonfire, and cooked hot dogs.  It did rain last night, loads...but fortunately we have  a trailer so we were dry.  A few others were not so dry.   I do remember our tent camping days and getting really wet during storms.

My work week last week went fine.  They did add a high school route onto my morning route.  Our district is so big that we have to contract out some of the schools as we do not have enough buses.  The company isn't able to do their routes in a timely manner so me and a couple of other drivers are taking them.  Morning high school routes are easy, high school kids are not awake at 7:00 am.  They sit, mouth hanging open, eyes glazed over or listening to CD players. (or IPods for the rich kids ;)  )

My junior high route kids were happy to see me.  The grade school kids aren't  quite sure what to make of me.   They are good so far.  My midday route is 3 and 4 year olds.  I still have the same monitor, and she awesome.  I had two little girls that I thought were twins, but they ended up being two of quads!  Mom has 2 teenagers and then the quads, 3 girls, 1 boy.  God bless her!

We have very little winter here and the summer has been so hard this year. Quads, wow, can't imagine how that mom can keep up. Guess I have forgotten how it feels to be young. Sounds as if you are back into the swing of school and bus driving. Hope you have a very good year, Paula

Hi Rose -

Boy, you sure have got all grade levels covered, don't you?!  My hat is sure off to you.  I cover HS alone and that's a big enough headache all by itself!  Let me know when you might be covering Trips with the HS kids and maybe we will cross paths someday!

It's always great to welcome fall, I love it too!  But I'm with you on that 'winter stuff'.  I can only tolerate about 2 weeks of it too!

Hugs & High Respects,,,,,

I'm glad you're enjoying the fall beauty.... I wish we had that here.  We just go directly from Summer to winter and back to summer.  Do not pass fall... do not pass Spring.  In the winter the temps are in the 60s and 70's.  In the summer they are over 100 nearly every day.  Or at least they were like that this year.

I couldn't hang with snow.  Too freakin' cold! lol

Hugs
Jackie

Glad to hear that a good time was had by all. It is funny yesterday we went swimming in our pool and I noticed that it was colder than normal. My hubby said that it was because of all the rain we had with Ernesto but I feel the seasons are changing already. They don't change to much here in Miami but oh well I can wish. lol

Glad to hear all is well with work and with life in general. Fall? It's still 98 degrees here in Florida. I don't know that we ever see fall. On day it will be in the 90's and then we'll have three days in the 40's. That about covers our fall, winter and spring, LOL!!

Okay now, quit making me jealous of your nice fall weather all ready.  I am suffering in the heat that I can only imagine makes hell even more repulsive looking to me.  It's like almost 100 degrees everyday here and we have a few more months to go of this misery.  Our winters are mild and like fall.  We just have summer and fall here.  There is no such thing as spring or winter but we pretend just the same.  Halloween is usually hot and muggy.  Well glad things are going good in your part of the woods and take care,  Luv N Hugs,
Lisa

Just HAD to stop by no matter what. You're always such a sweetheart...stopping to support me and everybody else. WIth no alerts it's pretty hard to stay atop of it all> I'm doing good to float...but thanks to GOD, I'm not sinking.
I love fall too, but am happy not to be living in Illinois. I only passed through during winter and can only imagine living there in the middle of it.
Camping out was always so much fun. SO glad you had a nice time, and from this entry, all is well. take care hon. Love you more than words can say.
