I have bats!

I got up this morning and went into our spare bedroom that used to be Matt and Tim's to look for a pen.  Something was flying around my head, I thought it was an awful big moth, then I realized it was a bat!  We had one a long time ago when the kids were still here and Jim the big brave guy he is caught it with a pillow case and let it outside.  Chickens that Mark and I are took the easy way and since the windows were already open I had him open the screens from the outside (he climbed a ladder) and then he swat it with a broom (it was hanging on the closet door) and it flew around in circles for a while before it frew out the window.   Whew!  The neighbor said it was probably a fruit bat, but so what it's like mice and spiders they look innocent but the still give me the willies!

my front yard so far this spring...without the pond

front yard last spring below...we've had a really wet spring and now with the warm weather it is growing in very well, including the weeds!  I have more ferns too mostly from the neighbor, (the white house) who mows his down!   My ivy is filling in very nicely.

My front yard is a work in progress and my therapy...the hostas never talk back and they only need some water and a little food and they are happy!

have  a great Saturday!

Ewww......I would have been freaking out big time, if a bat was flying around my house.....or anywhere around me, for that matter! lol  I'm serious! I would have had a heart attack! lol

Your yard is beautiful!  So green!

I live in the deserts of Southern California where green is just a color you get out a crayon box! :(

You have a beatiful yard, sure wish mine looked like that. I don't think I would have taken the bat thing that well. I would have been hiding from it. LOL.

I do have hostas under my tree in the front yard. When we bought the house there were these three ugly bushes that my MIL said are real expensive so i said come get them and she did and she fell down the hill in the side yard..OMG, it was so damn funny. Anyway, under those bushes were my hostas and they had lived for years with no sun. Your yard is beautiful, i love it. I love when you show pics.
We had a bat in our house once and i went off the deep end. my friends DH had to come from across town and get it out with a broom.
I LOVE YOU,lisa

Isn't it strange how different people are afraid of different things? I am not afraid of spiders unless it is black widow or brown recluse but now a bat is a bat is a bat. A bat in my house would make me very nervous. Paula

Bats won't hurt you---I promise!! There are no bats on this continent that suck blood. Next time, just turn off the lights and open the doors and windows. It will fly out on its own.
